One of the great joys of living and working in Niagara is getting to do weddings right out in the vineyards, amongst the year's budding vintage!
Taren + Gus were married up in the Cave Spring Vineyard headlands this past weekend in a lovely traditional Greek ceremony ... well, as traditional as you can be while getting married in a vineyard!
The colour palette for this weeding featured predominately pale pink, blush and white offset with some fresh hits of spring green and silver/grey.
Florals included lamb's ear, peonies, garden roses and gardenias with lavender foliage, clematis vine, mock orange and sprigs of mint from our studio's organic cutting gardens!

The weather in Niagara has been really windy and rainy of late ... great for the farms, but not so great for the weddings! Nevertheless, Felicia + Elliot managed to celebrate their nuptials outdoors in the vineyard at Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery this weekend as the clouds parted just long enough for them to say "I do".
We designed the florals for Felicia + Elliot to be in line with the romantic and pastoral setting in which they tied the knot! Blooms included peonies, tulips, garden roses, clematis and queen anne's lace. We also harvested some of the first cuttings from our studio's organic garden this weekend, including, mint, fern fronds, hosta leaves and more!
The colour palette featured light orange, salmon and pale blue against gold and white/cream/ivory accents.

If you've never experienced the absolute joy that is Ravine Vineyard, you must, must, MUST!!!

Felicia's bridal bouquet in hues of salmon, blush, ivory ...

It was super windy out ... Felicia was adamant to have her ceremony out in the vineyard and pressed on in spite!

The reception space featured 4 giant communal harvest tables and we designed a variety of florals including these super cute compotes featuring loads of textural foliages and flowers!

It was so much fun to be able to use all the exciting new glassware we collected over the winter ... crystal cut, rose, gold, footed and hurricanes in various sizes!

Christina + George tied the knot in an afternoon wedding ceremony in the Atrium at Queen's Landing in lovely downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake! Afterward, guests were invited for evening cocktails and to celebrate with them in the Imperial Ballroom over dinner!
Pale tones of blush and ivory with accents of pale peach, light creamy yellow and pale lavender were all in the colour palette for the day. A very modern vintage / English garden theme featuring lace, chargers, brown chiavari chairs, mercury and clear footed glass.
Blooms included peonies (of course!!!), roses, delphiniums, lilacs, ranunculus and ... wait for it ... baby's breath! Yup, it's baaack.

We had a ton of fun designing the ceremony in the Atrium ... the couple provided the oh-so-cute Hers & His night tables that we incorporated.

The centrepieces were a mix of short full floral compotes (flanked by our Dutz glass candlesticks with ivory pillar candles) and tall Venture glassware capped with a full floral underlaid with mercury glass votives.

It's fun to do wedding shows, but super exhausting! The real thrill of it all is to see the final product 'live' in front of you when it's only been in your head for far too long!!!
For 2013, we'd been dreaming of doing something very different ... we purposely avoided the traditional 'table & chairs' setup.
What we dreamt up was a kind of "The-Hobbit-meets-Twilight-meets-The-Enchanted-Forest" theme ... we only had a 6ft x 10ft space to pull it off in!
Our bride's bouquet contained garden roses, anemones, viburnum berries, ranunculus, white vanda orchids and delicate narcisus blooms. We custom created the bouquet stem wrap from fabric found at The Workroom. (Thanks to Two Birds Bridesmaid for allowing us to 'steal' their model for this image!)

The anchor elements in our display area included a pair of our giant 12ft tall 'twiggy' trees covered in cork bark, moss, ferns and more than 400 stems of white dendrobium orchids!

The featured floral centrepiece was sitting atop our newest custom creation ... a gigantic metal 'stump' (yes, it's metal!!!) repleat with root veins, bark, tree rings and little knots and knobs ... we love it and we so excited to unveil it this weekend!
So, so, SO many potential uses for this stump ... cake stand, a statement piece with florals on it or thow on a plexi round and turn it into a Sweetheart Table or a candy bar. It also splits into two pieces and can be used at a ceremony/altar site with twin florals on it ... so many things to imagine!

Of course 'Emerald Green' (2013 Colour of the Year) had to make an appearance!

In the wee minutes of the show, we threw together an impromptu photo shoot with our new 'stump and an awesome 'woodland' themed wedding cake from Sweetere! Uber-awesome photog Nataschia Wielink (our show neighbour for the weekend!) captured a couple of shots!

We're thrilled to once again be featured in The Wedding Co. Magazine for 2013! It's always a lot of fun working with the girls from the Wedding Co. ... always a twist on the ordinary!
This time, we were given only a single word and a colour palette as inspiration! From this little glimspse of inspiration, we were to create a bouquet that would be married with both a wedding cake and wedding stationery for a 'group' shot in the studio! We had no idea who the other two creative contributors would be and so we couldn't chat amongst ourselves ahead of time!
We were up for the challenge ... check our 'featured' page below! (The entire feature can be found on pages 36 - 41 here.)
