Forest ...
All week long, we had beautiful weather in Niagara's wine country ... finally!!! And then, suddenly, the weather gods were again displeased for some reason and sent us rain on wedding Saturday!!! In some ways, rain is good ... it certainly makes for a better party because the guests seem to stick closer together, as if bound by nature!
In spite of the weather ups and downs, Erinn + Matt's wedding marched on and it was a wonderful affair! After celebrating their marriage ceremony at the Cave Spring Vineyard Retreat, guests were invited back to The Windows Room at Inn on the Twenty on Main Street in Jordan Village to wine and dine the night away.
Erinn's color palette was 'Forest' featuring shots of caramel and butter with accidental indigo, deep pink and mango tones and loads of texture.
To accomplish the 'look and feel', we designed with green mums, garden roses, viburnum, hydrangea, cobra lilies and gardeny bits (from our Studio's organic cutting gardens!) including mint, heuchera and japanese painted fern.
Congratulations and best wishes to Erinn + Matt ... we loved being part of your wedding day!!!

How we love the cute raspberries tucked in this bridesmaid's bouquet!

Erinn + Matt ... after just having tied the knot, exit the Vineyard Retreat and the sun comes out ... on cue!! Matt's expression says it all.

Erinn + Matt did such a great job on their stationery, we just had to show it to you! It's the attention to the details (like stationery) that can really tie the whole day together!

In September we spent three days producing a suite of five different 'scenes' to inspire and excite you about all the dreamy possibilities for your wedding ... we're over the moon to finally be able to share them with you!
This al fresco dining scene shot on location at The Good Earth Food and Wine Co. features our wonderful 'Forest' colour palette teamed up with elements from our 'Earth' collection.
We focused on local, seasonal flowers including delphiniums, dahlias, astilbe, hydrangea, Queen Anne's lace, camomile and grasses displayed in some of our apothecary glassware.
We love, love, love our model's polka dot dress ... so fun and flirty!

Usually this late into the season, our weddings tend to be more intimate and close-knit affairs ... however, this month I think we're setting some sort of all-time 'guest attendance' record!
For instance, take Jennifer + Matthew who were married this past weekend, celebrating with their nearly 400 guests, packing both the church and reception venue to the gills! And we heard it was a great party ... going until nearly 3:00am with both a live Macedonian band and DJ keeping the dance floor packed into the wee hours.
We were working with a predominately white and ivory palette with splashes of fresh chartreuse coming from the foliage of the flowers. White hydrangeas, roses, garden roses, ivory lisianthus and some gorgeous white anemones (with black centres) commanded the monobotanical floral palette.
Structural design elements included birch logs, manzanita branches and an absolute ton of glass vessels and candlelight! Set against the guest tables covered in slate crinkle linen with dramatic black chair covers, it was all very modern, clean and formal, yet relaxed and tangible at the same time!
Jennifer's bridal bouquet ... a very soft and creamy delicate bouquet of garden roses, peonies and ranunculus was a perfect compliment to her absolutely stunning Oscar de la Renta dress ... we're soooo loving those ruffles!!

We fell for these amazing anemones ... beautiful in the bridesmaids bouquets!

We created four of these oversized florals for the ceremony. A traditional Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony is a thing of beauty ... so much cultural value and dripping with tradition.

Floral decor for the reception was split between two different table designs. The first consisted of a tablescape of pedestal glass in various heights filled with monobotanical flowers, birch logs and candles interspersed. The second design, on round tables, featured a single manzanita branch covered with moss and white orchids climbing up into the branches with rose petals, votive candles and hanging lanterns. Sometimes we'll do up a sketch of our planned tablescape to help our clients visualize the final design ... a background in visual art certainly comes in handy at times!!

Wedding cake by Con Gusto Artisan Bakery ... impeccable!

Our congratulations go out to Jennifer + Matthew ... cheers and best wishes to the start of your marriage adventure!

If you've never been to The Good Earth or met Nicolette Novak, it's an experience you must put on your 'to do' list when in Niagara!
The Good Earth is not merely a place to visit ... it is something to be experienced. A tranquil slice of heaven in the shade of the Beamsville Bench wine appellation of Niagara!
This weekend, Bronwen + Mark and their guests had a glorious chance to 'experience' the Good Earth for themselves! The couple were married amongst the vast gardens on the property and later celebrated in upscale garden party fashion with delicious delectables including wood-fired roasted pork and ... an oyster bar!
Side note ... Bronwen is the daughter of Rodney Clark of Toronto's famed Rodney's Oyster House.
Working with an organic and natural feeling green and white palette, we designed our pieces for Bronwen + Mark using flowers such as peonies, roses, hydrangea and viburnum. We 'garnished' our pieces with various cuttings from our organic gardens here at the Studio ... including lady's mantle, astilbe, fern fronds, mulberry springs and oregano.
Elements included birch logs, cork vessels, wrought iron Shepherd's Hooks and glass Mason jardinieres! There's nothing quite like an early summer outdoor winery wedding in Niagara ... you have to experience it for yourself!
Welcome to the Good Earth Food and Wine Company ...

Browen's bouquet … featuring peonies, pieris and japanese painted ferns and wrapped in a gorgeous silvery-blue-pewter satin ribbon.

Coordinating bridesmaid's bouquet ... slight more petite and with a darker ribbon.

Our custom-made Shepherd's Hooks have turned out to be quite a hit amongst our brides this year!

Isn't she angelic? I think I say this about every flower girl!

Here comes the bride!

We created tablescapes of flowers for the 32 foot long mission-style seating arrangements ...

Four of these little cloches marked the tables ... apples, grapes, pears and mulberries!

We cozied up one of the garden seating areas with these birch log lantern standards ...

This weekend, Angeline + Matt were wed at Cave Spring Winery’s ‘Vineyard Retreat’ among the grape rows in the vineyard where some of Niagara’s best vintages begin! After their wedding ceremony, Angeline + Matt welcomed their guests to an evening dinner reception in The Windows Room at the nearby Inn on the Twenty on Main St. in Jordan Village.
The colour palette for the day was ‘Forest’ featuring mainly shades of fresh green and white with a small hit of butter.
To achieve a soft 'local Niagara' feel, we designed with plenty of white hydrangeas, orchids and peonies. We also added some items from our studio's organic cutting gardens including Japanese Painted Fern fronds, Lady's Mantle blooms and fresh mint foliage. Elements included birch logs, green globe grapes and poppy pods.
It was wonderful to be a part of Angeline + Matt's wedding celebration … cheers!
This close-up gives you a good idea of the 'look and feel' of the Forest colour palette ...

The bride’s bouquet …

The bridesmaids wore Emerald Green and carried smaller versions of Angeline's bouquet ...

Angeline + Matt were married out in the spring vineyards with the vista of the Niagara Escarpment in the distance ... the rain held off and it was a perfect afternoon for an outdoor winery wedding ceremony!

Our custom-made wrought iron Shepherd's Hooks lined the aisle ... they looked fantastic against the backdrop of the white Chiavari Chairs!

The head table was designed in 'tablescape' fashion, with multiple satellite floral pieces, birch logs, green globe grapes, strands of ivy and loads of candlelight!

These gorgeous full floral centerpieces looked absolutely perfect against the linens and white Chiavari chairs provided by Simply Beautiful Decor.

Our stationery guru put together the matching Place Cards and Seating Plan using the colours and fonts Angeline + Matt had chosen for their wedding invitations!
