We were back at the Vintage Hotels for another double header this weekend ... it's been a busy November!!
Heather + Greg came to us to design a natural, relaxed and clean floral palette for their wedding celebration. They were married at the incredible St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Niagara-on-the-Lake with cocktails and an evening dinner reception following a short time later just around the corner in the Grand Georgian Ballroom at Queen's Landing. This Georgian style mansion with it's imported hardwood, rich marble flooring and crystal chandeliers is simply perfection for the celebration of a wedding!
On top of a white base, we were working with a very bold palette of raspberry pink bordering on fucshia ... fully saturated and deeply intense. Much like our 'Spirit' palette! Orchids, garden and spray roses, gerbera and white hydrangea were the primary floral ingredients.
Heather + Greg ... it was a privilege to design the flowers for your wedding celebration ... we wish you much happiness in your marriage adventure! Bride Heather burst into tears of happiness when we delivered the bouquets to the bridal ready room at Queen's Landing ... she was overwhelmed! We were overwhelmed at her response!!

The bridesmaids carried a bouquet of intensely pink flowers with a contrasting black stem wrap ... an absolutely perfect match to their ensemble for the day!

It's been a long while since we've been able to work at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church ... it was under a bit of restoration outside ... beautiful inside with the boxed pews and history dating back to 1794. The current building was rebuilt in the 1830's after it was burned down by the Americans in the War of 1812.

Guests gathered for cocktails in the Atrium at Queen's Landing ... dinner followed inside the Grand Georgian Ballroom.

This ravishing cake (can you describe a cake as 'ravishing'?) was created by Ruth and Eda at Vineyard Sweets ...

This weekend we gathered up the team and trotted up Highway 400 to Richmond Hill to design the flowers and Chuppah for Caley + Richard's nuptials at the lovely Richmond Hill Country Club! We love our home turf here in Niagara, but we also like to travel once in a while ... just to see how all the non-Niagaran's get by ... ya know?!?! :)
Caley + Richard's outdoor wedding ceremony took place in The Valley below the Country Club ... under one of our custom-made curly willow Chuppahs. It was a beautiful spot next to a babbling brook replete with an old wooden bridge you could only cross on foot ... picture perfect. Cocktails took place on one of the back patios immediately following the ceremony.
Later in the evening, Caley + Richard hosted a dinner for their nearly 200 guests in Ballroom upstairs.
The colour palette for today was a blend of 'Forest' and 'Spirit' .... the ceremony and wear and carry were all Forest themed and we add hits of bold pink to the reception flowers!
The bride and bridesmaid's bouquets ... these colours were a perfect choice as the Forest palette looked right at home in The Valley! How adorable does Caley look ... a picture of complete serenity!!

The dapper looking gents ... all lined up and ready to walk the mile down the aisle!

In case you were wondering (and we know that you were!) ... our Chuppah frame can be adapted to many styles ... fabric, birch log, curly willow. For Caley + Richard's wedding ceremony, we designed a curly willow Chuppah and hand-tied over 150 white orchid blooms onto the willow.

Here come the hits of bold pink ... these centerpieces looked absolutely stunning in the Ballroom with the textured linens and gold chiavari chairs.

Our best wishes are with Caley + Richard at the start of their new journey together ... Mazel tov!

Natalija + Marc were married in a very intimate and traditional Serbian wedding ceremony and then invited their guests to the stunning (and recently renovated) Burlington Golf and Country Club for cocktails and an evening dinner reception.
Natalija’s colour palette was a fusion of 'Spirit' and ‘Breeze’ which included tones of deep pink and magenta and shades of purple subtly set off by white hydrangea.
We designed this wedding using roses, peonies, (purple, pink and white) hydrangea, orchids, freesia, lisianthus and the-most-wonderful smelling lily of the valley! We also raided our organic cutting garden for bits of foliage such as mock orange, bridal veil spirea and the like!
Natalija's gorgeous bride's bouquet …

The matching bridesmaid's bouquets ... a big bridal party with 8 girls! The bouquets looked amazing against the shimmery fabric of their dresses ... depending on the light, you'd see tones of lavender, purple, pink, magenta or even electric blue!

We hadn't been to the Burlington Golf and Country Club since their $14 million renovation ... but, wow, what a stunning transformation! This is one gorgeous building ... and they did it all right!

The accent colour, naturally provided by the venue decor, but also brought out in the Chiavari chairs, stationery and guest favors was ... gold! It was a soft, champagne gold and it set off the room amazingly well! We designed these centerpieces to be raised up above the sacred 'line-of-sight' (we call it the 'no-fly-zone'!) and this helped lend a certain physicality to the room. With low centerpieces, the room would've felt empty ... but the height of these centerpieces scaled down the vastness of the high ceiling just the right amount!

So much of the aesthetic of well executed wedding decor is in the details ... and Natalija + Marc's wedding was loaded with perfectly placed details! We particularly loved the vintage style menu stationery and boxed Godiva thank-yous!

Carey + Courtney celebrated their Niagara on the Lake wedding ceremony in The Gallery upstairs at the Pillar and Post Hotel. After the ceremony, their guests were invited to the Upper Canada Room for cocktails and an evening dinner reception.
The colour palette for the day was ‘Spirit’ featuring shades of bright pink with accents of fresh green and shots of white. We were going for a contemporary yet vintage romantic feel! Late winter weddings in Niagara-on-the-Lake are so fun ... thanks to Carey + Courtney for letting us share in their big day!

Carey + Courtney were married in The Gallery room upstairs at Pillar and Post ... our custom one-of-a-kind Shepherd's Hooks lined the aisle!

We designed a Manzanita branch 'Wishing Tree' in the cocktail area just outside the Upper Canada Room ... guests used the tree to share advice or give their best wishes to the happy couple! A nice alternative to the traditional guestbook.
